Support major bike & pedestrian upgrades on Barton Springs Road
Major walking & bicycling improvements - including wide protected bike lanes and safe sidewalks - could be coming to Barton Springs Road.
Barton Springs Road is iconic. And yet, it’s miserable and dangerous for walking, bicycling, transit, and driving. But that could finally change.
Starting with a 12-month pilot, the City plans to install wide protected bike lanes on Barton Springs Road between South Lamar and Stratford Drive, as well as shorter crossing distances and better sidewalks and bus stops. This would be a leap forward for safe transportation in Austin.
This bold plan needs a LOT of public support. Please take the City’s survey before June 30th. Then ask others to take it too!
