Join the Future of New Urbanism - Central Texas and Safe Streets Austin at W 21st St and University Ave on Friday, October 28 from 9-5 to celebrate PARK(ing) Day!

To enjoy milder Austin weather, we've moved PARK(ing) Day from September to October (Walktober). PARK(ing) Day temporarily repurposes street parking spaces as “parklets” in order to create public space and inspire discussions about land use and active transportation.

WalkSMTX will also be hosting 3 FREE walks throughout the day, starting and ending at Littlefield Fountain, 201 W 21st St. Gather 10 minutes before the walk begins, and stay a few minutes after for an optional Q&A!

Walk 1: 11:00-11:30am. Accessible vs. Inaccessible Design

Walk 2: 1:00-2:00pm. Walk Audit: Car-Focused Design vs. Human-Focused Design

Walk 3: 3:00-3:30 pm. A Car-Free Drag
